The E.A.G.L.E. family celebrates the success of ‘Innovation in Business Seminar’ yesterday organized by Pemodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) Research Institute and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
The event is the conclusion of the ‘Senior Fellow Program’ awarded to Professor Dr. Rahinah Ibrahim for the first time in 2018. She presented her findings titled ‘Innovation in SME Businesses towards Global Competition’. Her presentation described the birth of the E.A.G.L.E. Innovations that started with the intent to support PhD students. In the Senior Fellow Program, she described how selected E.A.G.L.E. tools were experienced by volunteer SME entrepreneurs in two workshop series to help them create new innovations to solve their own business problems.
Many participants hoped that policy makers would establish certain policies to promote a healthy ecosystem that would encourage indusry-academia partnership in creative problem solving process. It would enable SMEs to formalize their knowledge assets through systematic and flexible #innovation training, R&D discovery, and intellectual property #IP protection. New knowledge-based SMEs will then be prepared to participate in the competitive knowledge-based global economy.
The seminar was officiated by YBhg. Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Idrus, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) UPM and closed by YBrs. En. Aziz Anuar, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Communications Division PNB who is also the Director of PNB Research Institute.
Participants include SME entrepreneurs and government agencies involved in entrepreneurship training.
